Myofunctional Treatment Solutions
Myofunctional techniques can be used to address the poor muscular habits that are the underlying causes of crooked teeth by utilizing light intermittent forces to align the teeth. Orthodontists have utilized this mode of practice around the world for over 25 years.

How Myobrace® Works
BPA free and made of medical grade silicone, Myobrace® removable dental trainers are typically worn for 1-2 hours during the day and while sleeping. Working to develop the jaws, open the airway, and move teeth into proper alignment, the Myobrace® appliance can be used together with daily tongue and facial exercises to create new muscle memory patterns and correct myofunctional habits.
During Treatment
A gentler treatment option than traditional orthodontics, Myobrace® patients should only experience very mild discomfort at the beginning of treatment, and with regular wear, it should subside quickly.
The length of Myobrace® treatment is heavily dependent on how much the appliance is used. While we do not recommend that the trainer be worn to school, we do request that patients wear the trainer for 1-2 hours after school and then while sleeping. The average treatment time will vary, but is generally around 18 months.
To care for your Myobrace® appliances, clean them every day with non-abrasive toothpaste, and then clean them with an over the counter denture or retainer cleaner once a week. Please store your appliance in it’s case when you are not using it. Please do not chew on your appliance and be sure to keep it away from pets!
