Effective January 1, 2021

Due, in part to, the difficulties that have occurred during COVID19 with insurance companies and the ever changing dental and medical insurance climate, Dr. Becky Coats, and TMJ+ will no longer be accepting assignment of benefits for any claims. This will ensure that insurance companies will no longer be able to dictate what types of treatments are offered to you. For many of you this will not change how you are already partnering with us.

You will still be able to use your dental/medical insurance in our office. We will simply collect the fees upfront at the time of service and your insurance will reimburse you directly, according to your policy. We will NOT have a breakdown of your benefit plan and will NOT know if you are eligible or if your policy is even active. Questions about your policy or any payment must be directed to your insurance company directly. The responsibility will be yours, as the patient, to let us know if your policy has changed or terminated. As a courtesy, we will continue to file your dental hygiene (cleanings/exams) services for you, but, again, the insurance will reimburse you DIRECTLY. For any other type of claim (ie: fillings, crowns, sleep appliances, orthodontics, etc) we will continue to prepare those claims for you to file for yourself, however, it will be by request only. We will not be automatically filing / creating claims for any services other than cleanings. After requests for claims are received, it usually takes a week to prepare this and we will notify you when the claim is ready to pick up.

For our patients without dental insurance (or those who are unhappy with their existing insurance benefits), we offer an IN-HOUSE DENTAL SAVINGS MEMEBERSHIP PROGRAM. Unlike dental insurance plans, there is NO LIMIT on how much money you can save by using this plan. Whether or not you currently have an existing dental insurance policy or not, we urge you to ask us about this program and how it may benefit you. Financial Policy

For your convenience, we accept payments made with Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. We also offer financing through Care Credit and Lending Club. Payment is expected at the time of service.

Cancellation Policy

Kindly provide at least 48 hours notice for any appointment that needs to be rescheduled. Appointments cancelled in less than 24 hours may be subject to a cancellation charge.
