Full Mouth Reconstruction
Rehabilitating the Bite
Nancy Long
Patient came in c/o sleep and jaw issues, not having enough room to breathe, migraines, and tinnitus. In this video, she talks about her journey from the New Patient exam, the care of the team, and the details of the diagnosis. She also talked about how the TMJ orthotics relieved her symptoms and she can be herself again. She elaborates on the pain relief and how she felt as a person with more energy to go out with her friends and travel more. Her long-term phase was restoring her bite with crowns, called functional rehabilitation. The teeth are crowns, but they are made to the more comfortable bite with her jaw being more forward and relaxed. She also has a fuller smile and whiter teeth which looks like a cosmetic makeover.
However, in this, she feels her face is more relaxed. The baseline approach was treating her symptoms by placing jaw in a more comfortable position to know where to place the teeth. She feels better, sleeps better, has no pain, a brand-new smile, and an overall different lady.
