Katelyn Spencer, M.S., CCC-SLP, AOMT-C is the owner and founder of MarvelMyo & Speech. She is a board certified Speech-Language Pathologist, Feeding Specialist, and Certified Oromyofunctional Therapist through the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. She grew up in Texas where now she, her husband, and boston terrier, Mahomie live. She graduated from University of Louisiana-Monroe with her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology with an Associates in American Sign Language. She currently is working on her dissertation with Baylor University focused on how to inform adult patients about tongue tethers and mouth breathing to help improve their health. She holds her Clinical Certification of Competence through the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and is a licensed and registered member of the Texas Speech-Language and Hearing Association.

She is a four-time recipient of the ASHA ACE Award for excellence in Continuing Education, earning over 200 hours of continuing education. Areas of intense study include sensory-motor feeding issues, orofacial myology, and swallowing. She has specific training for feeding using the CAN-EAT approach and Lori Overland Feeding Therapy and Hallie Bulkin’s Feed the PEDS course. She has experience with Beckman Oral Motor and the S.O.S. Feeding approach. She is a Level 3 Talk Tools Therapist for Oral Motor and Feeding Therapy. She is trained in PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets), which focuses on the motor movement for forming sounds into words. She has also taken coursework through the International Association of Oromyofunctional Therapy (IAOM), The Breathe Institute with Sarah Hornsby, Orofacial Myology Training for Sandra Holtzman (QOM certification track), SimonSaysSpeech, and the Chrysalis TOTS training to address oromyofunctional disorders and how to recognize tongue/lip/cheek tethers. She is on-track to become a certified COM specialist in Oromyofunctional Disorders and to become a Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC) through the Center for Breastfeeding. Katelyn has a passion for patients to reach their full potential in life by addressing their speech and language, feeding, orofacial myofunctional needs.
